Hangzhou Environmental Protection Research Institute of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group, established in 1958, is a member of China Coal Technology & Engineering Group taking Hangzhou Zhongyu Architectural Design Company as one of its holding companies. The institute is composed of the engineering technology center, environmental impact assessment center, eco-friendly industrial design institute, eco-friendly mining area design institute, environmental engineering department, production base of environmental protection equipment and materials, sanitary production and energy saving evaluation center, general office, party-masses work department, financial department, and property management department, etc, and is a specializer in technical research for resourcezation of industrial waste water, design, consulting and general contracting of environmental engineering, manufacturing of whole set of environmental protection equipment, environmental monitoring and environmental impact assessment, research, development and application of energy conservation and emissions reduction, etc; It has been awarded with many certificates, including "Certificate (Grade A) for Special Project Design (wastewater) in Environmental Engineering", "Certificate (Grade B) for Special Project Design (waste gas) in Environmental Engineering", "Certificate (Grade A) for Engineering Design in Construction Industry" and "Certificate (Grade B) for Landscape Architecture Design" issued by State Ministry of Construction; "Certificate (Grade B) for Environmental Impact Assessment" and "Qualification Certificate for Eco-friendly Design and Operation" issued by Ministry of Environmental Protection; "Certificate (Grade B) for Engineering Consultation" issued by NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission); as well as general contracting qualification for environmental engineering, and has achieved ISO9001:2000 quality management system certification. It is a high-tech enterprise of the state level which has 55 ized patents, a unit taking charge of the information centers of environmental protection and comprehensive utilization in the coal industry, affiliated to Specialized Committee of Environmental Protection of China Coal Society, and is responsible for editing the journal of Energy Environmental Protection that is issued at home and abroad. With a registered capital of 30 million yuan, total assets of over 95 million yuan, net assets of 65 million yuan, new products development and industrialization center and offices of 15000 m2, and environmental protection equipment manufacturing base of 13000 m2, supported by the test and analysis center, wastewater treatment, waste gas processing, automatic control, and other professional laboratories, it has enormous potentiality and it is capable of test and analysis, process simulation, parameter calibration, pilot test complete sets, etc.
Hangzhou Research Institute, which was recognized as a national high-tech enterprise, has accomplished above 80 water treatment projects of the national, provincial and ministerial level, 19 of which have received awards. The institute has set up its own core technical advantages and brands in environmental engineering, i.e. treatment of high concentration wastewater from pharmaceutical and chemical, coal chemical, organic electroplating and ammonia nitrogen industries. Its exclusive technologies in multivariate oxidizing pretreatment, strengthened electrochemical coupling, heterogeneous catalysis oxidation and advanced processing, biochemical strengthening, efficient degrading bacteria screening and breeding have been successfully used in wastewater treatment and recycled water application in medical, chemical, electroplating, coal chemical, municipal, textile printing, dyeing and other industries, supported with satisfactory services. In addition, pilot and demonstration projects are available.
In the field of equipment and materials, with years of technology accumulation, Hangzhou Institute has successfully developed the multiple oxidation microelectrolysis packing and 5ppi high-density biological carrier packing, efficient degradation coal base and biological species that is adaptable for chemical wastewater, which can breed rapidly and completely degradate the coking wastewater, and therefore is the ideal strain for coking wastewater purification. Besides, complete technology in processing of chemical wastewater has been successfully developed and applied in several projects in treatment of high-concentration organic chemical and ammonia nitrogen wastewater and sewage; and hydraulic pulser of hydrolysis pool, multi-point water distribution device and pneumatic auxiliary desliming equipment were developed.
There are 301professionals, among which 22 are researchers and senior engineers of the professor level, 69 are associate researchers and senior engineers, and 73 are engineers, majoring in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, municipal engineering, environmental biology, environmental chemistry, construction engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical manufacturing, automation engineering, comprehensive utilization of resources, etc. Relying on the reasonable profession arrangement, rich experience in engineering design, construction, installation and debugging, its engineerings have achieved the design standards, received high praise from the owners, and had a good reputation in the industry.
